I thought this was going to be ‘just another alien invasion’ movie .. I was wrong! If you have watched the trailer above, you will be forgiven for thinking that you have seen all the important parts of the film but trust me, you haven’t!
About halfway through I was thinking that things were happening pretty quickly and there couldn’t be much more story to tell but I was wrong again! I am not into spoiling things so won’t tell you anymore but it’s probably NOT what you’re thinking .. and if it is and you have generally not had a heads up then I applaud you!
I felt that the characters were pretty believable until after the ‘big’ reveal and then I had some questions in my head – I think that they have done this with a view to making a follow up film as it certainly could work,
The acting was great – I am a fan of Michael Peña and he doesn’t disappoint in this – he makes you believe his version of things right from the start. I did have an issue with his youngest daughter though – not the acting as such but the character; Yes I know she is a terrified young girl but on more than one occasion I wanted to yell at her to shut the f**k up and do as she was told!
It was an easy but interesting watch and I give it:
